Technology Program
The
mission of the SCHA’s Technology program is to promote the use of
technology as a learning tool and to facilitate the development of
academic skills by providing innovative and engaging technology
opportunities for our students and teachers.
Technology is an
important part of every student's personal and educational life. It is
imperative that students become competent in the use of computers and
other technology in order to develop essential life skills. It is also
important that students develop competency in the use of technology in
order to participate in educational activities and experiences
throughout all levels.
Because of these
convictions, our school has created a vision for the integration of
technology into the educational setting. Technology is an integral part
of the educational standards of the students at the Southern
Connecticut Hebrew Academy. Students will receive computer training
through traditional instruction as well as through computer use
throughout the curriculum. Students and staff will use technology to
increase communication skills through email, presentation software, and
word processing. Cross-curricular projects integrating technological
resources will be regularly included in the students' course of study.
Our
mission continues to be: Students will become responsible for
increasing their own learning and will use technology as a tool in
their quest for life-long learning.
To attain our mission and
achieve our goals, a three-stage strategic technology plan has been
developed. The ultimate outcome is for SCHA to become an academically
oriented, cutting edge, technologically based, wireless laptop program.
