Rabbi Sheya Hecht, Headmaster
Welcome!
As you begin the virtual
tour of Southern Connecticut Hebrew Academy, I take this opportunity to
thank you for visiting one of the foremost academies of Jewish learning
in New England.
Founded
in 1944, in the basement of a local synagogue, our school can boast
over 3500 alumni, many of whom are leaders in their respective fields
and communities. As attorneys, physicians, Rabbis, social
workers and self-employed business owners, our graduates all share the
common thread of having had a unique educational experience in their
formative years. The values which our students learned, the
teachings which they gleaned, and the life lessons which they
experienced, enable them to face life's challenges with confidence and
accomplish their goals.
We
are fortunate to have a dedicated faculty who feel the awesome
responsibility of maximizing the potential of every student and instill
a life-long love and passion for learning. It's not just about
grades; but rather about developing minds and habits of learning that
ignite intellectual curiosity for years to come.
I look forward to meeting you and your children.
