Spirit of Philanthropy
Philanthropy at the Southern CT Hebrew Academy is a vital part of continuing to educate young people in preparation for life’s challenges.
The SCHA family relies on charitable contributions to support quality faculty, programs and facilities. The three vehicles for support are the Annual Fund, Capital Gifts and Endowed Gifts. Healthy schools have sustained simultaneous growth in these three areas. We have witnessed what capital gifts can do in transforming our campus.
The commitment and generosity by alumni, friends and family on projects has proven to pay dividends in the quality of education we are able to deliver to the student body.
Tuition and fees only cover 50% of the revenues needed to operate the Southern CT Hebrew Academy. By cultivating an increase in the Annual Gift sector, the Academy will be able to maintain its high standards and provide students and teachers with the tools necessary to achieve their goals.
The Investment Income is also very important in our strategic and long-range plan; it is generated from endowment, capital gifts and planned gifts bequeathed by alumni, friends and family.
Our goal is to continue the Hebrew Academy’s tradition as the preeminent day school in Southern Connecticut.
