U.S. History I, II
This is a sequence of two one-year courses that are designed to provide the student with a comprehensive overview and understanding of American cultural, political, social, military and economic history. These courses examine trends, events, ideas, and people that have been and are the American story. Films, video tapes, compact discs, primary and secondary source readings, and field trips will be used to enhance the learning process. Students will also enhance their independent research and writing skills, as well as their ability to think critically and engage in meaningful class discussion.
World History I and II
This course will open students to the richness of the historic, economic, political, military, cultural, social and intellectual diversity in the various parts of the world. Students will focus on developing an understanding of situations and conditions in Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, South America, Europe and Africa. Students will also enhance their independent research skills and writing as well as their ability to think critically and engage in meaningful class discussions.
